Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - From 1 May 2020, foreign trade restrictions are introduced in the Republic of Uzbekistan as a reaction to the economic consequences of a pandemic.

So, for the period from 1 May to 31 December 2020, the export of raw materials for the production of medical products and the import of cement products were temporarily suspended.

The decision was dictated by a sharp drop in demand for cement due to the fact that work at many construction sites stopped, as well as the need to ensure domestic demand for medical products. Based on the situation on the external and internal markets, the progress of the spread of the pandemic in the country, the authorized bodies may come forward with a proposal on the early lifting of the restrictions.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan instructed to prevent an artificial increase in prices for cement products and raw materials for the production of medical products in the domestic market.
