Uzbekistan temporarily bans flights of Russian charter airline IFly Airlines

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan temporarily banned flights of Russian charter airline IFly Airlines. This decision was adopted due to the fact that the carrier was selling tickets for flights that were not agreed.

Over the past week in the country there were three cases of ticket sales for flights that were not there. Two of them were associated with IFly Airlines flights.

Despite the warning of IFly Airlines with a gross violation of these requirements without obtaining the appropriate permits, in November 2021 charter flights were organized on the routes Moscow - Urgench - St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg - Urgench - Moscow, Moscow - Navoi - Moscow, as well as St. Petersburg - Navoi - St. Petersburg with the sale of air tickets, which led to social tension among passengers who arrived at the airport for departure," the agency said.

In this regard, Uzaviation made a decision to apply a sanction against IFly Airlines to temporarily suspend flights to Uzbekistan. In the event of a repetition of such cases, the airline will revoke its operating permits for flights.

“In turn, we recommend that passengers before buying or cashiers before selling air tickets familiarize themselves with the status of the planned flight on the main page of the official website of the Uzaviation Agency in the Information Board section,” the agency stressed.
