Uzbekistan Temir Yollari is implementing a new project in Fergana Valley
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new project, “Modernization of the Andijan-Sawai-Khanabad railway and organization of passenger intercity trains”, is currently being implemented in Fergana Valley by the joint stock company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari.
According to the general project developed by the specialists of Toshtemiryolloyiha, it is planned to build 45 artificial structures (including one railway bridge). 520 thousand cubic meters of land works have already been completed.
The existing 53.2 km railway will be rehabilitated here and a new steel sheet 10.2 km long will be laid. The project also envisages construction of seven railway crossings.
Until today, the workers of the “Specialized Track Mechanized Station” carried out 477 cubic meters of earthworks, built 11 artificial structures. The full implementation of the project and the beginning of the running of inter-city modern trains is planned by the end of this year.
