Uzbekistan takes part in the International Zhautykov Olympiad of schoolchildren

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - From 9 to 15 January, the national team of Uzbekistan will take part in the 16th International Zhautykov Olympiad for schoolchildren in mathematics, physics and computer science.

International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZHO) is an annual competition for students of 10-11 grades in computer science, physics and mathematics. Representatives of various countries of the world take part in the Olympiad. The IZHO takes place in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

The Olympiad has been held since 2005 in Kazakhstan. Teams from different countries, consisting of no more than 7 people, take part in the Olympiad: 3 representatives for mathematics and 2 for the remaining disciplines, as well as 1 or 2 mentors.

Representatives of Uzbekistan have been participating in the IZHO since 2006. In 2006-2019, students of Uzbekistan won more than 50 awards of this Olympiad.

In particular, students from Uzbekistan won 11 medals of the International IZHO Olympiad for students in 2019 (1 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals).
