Uzbekistan, Tajikistan Launch 10 Joint Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon, took part in a ceremony to launch major joint projects.

The two leaders gave the start to the implementation of 10 initiatives covering industry, construction, and the agro-industrial sector. These include the establishment of furniture and leather goods manufacturing enterprises, the expansion of household appliance production, the construction of textile facilities in Tajikistan, the development of a residential complex and commercial properties in Tashkent, as well as the launch of canned food production in the Fergana region.

Among the projects are also dairy production in the Andijan region, and the manufacturing of fruit juices and metal briquettes in the Surkhandarya region.

In addition, during the ceremony, one of the streets in New Tashkent was officially named after the city of Dushanbe, symbolizing the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties.

The presidents expressed confidence that the implementation of these projects would provide a significant boost to further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and create new opportunities for industrial collaboration and regional infrastructure development.
