Uzbekistan suspends travels to and from Ebola-hit countries
In line with the protocol No. 23 of the session of emergency commission of Uzbekistan on fighting epidemic from 27 October 2014, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Uzbektourism was entrusted temporary suspend touristic and other travels to and from countries, where Ebola cases were widely registered (Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali) to prevent spread of the virus in the country.
According to the World Health Organization, Ebola cases were also registered in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Spain and Germany and there is suspicion that virus can enter Russia, Belarus, Moldavia, Australia and Japan.
Uzbektourism in its message to tour operators called suspend touristic and other trips to above mentioned countries and adopted security measures at organization of travels to and from these countries.
At the same time, Uzbektourism in cooperation with Ministry of Healthcare are developing instruction on efficient protection from the virus, including preliminary protection measures. The instruction will be disseminated among tour operators, Uzbektourism said.
