Uzbekistan supply light industry goods for US$260m to Russia

The Russian delegation led by Victor Evtuhov took part in the official ceremony of the opening of the 13rd International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair.

At the meeting, the delegation of Russia held talks with the Vice Premier and Finance Minister of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov.

The sides discussed opportunities of bilateral cooperation and collaboration, including development of cotton industry.

Victor Evtuhov said that Uzbekistan is a strategic partner of Russia. He said that the volume of supply of light industry products from Uzbekistan to Russia rose by 24.3% in average compared to 2015 and exceeded US$260 million in seven months of 2016.

He underlined that Uzbekistan is also a leader on supply of cotton yarn to Russia, which widely used in production of garments.
