Uzbekistan supplies fruits and vegetables to Belarus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first meeting of the working group on agriculture and food industry between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus took place on 18 June 2019.

During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in the field of agriculture were discussed.

The Belarusian side expressed interest in developing cooperation in the field of agriculture (agro-industrial complex), and the Uzbek side to introduce Belarusian resource-saving technologies in the field of plant growing, seed production and feed production, in the implementation of joint projects on designing, building and equipping high-tech equipment of dairy complexes, on the organization of embryonic laboratories for the reproduction of breeding dairy herds.

They also reviewed the implementation of agreements in the field of agriculture following the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan on 12-13 September 2018, and discussed preparations for the next meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on agriculture.

An agreement was reached on enhancing cooperation in the implementation of promising joint projects in the framework of the bilateral working group on agriculture.

As part of the working group meeting, trade contracts were signed for the supply of fresh fruits and melons to the Republic of Belarus. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Andijan branch of the Tashkent State Agrarian University, the Tekhmash Production Company, Blyuming LLC, Beluniversalprodukt was inked.

The main goal of the memorandum is cooperation in areas of integration of science, education and production in the "science + production" format. Following the meeting, a protocol was signed.
