Uzbekistan studies experience of Turkey in healthcare

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan paid a visit to Turkey from 31 March to 6 April 2014 to study experience of the country in medical tourism and healthcare.

The delegation included representatives of Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan, medical universities and clinics. The delegation visited Istanbul and Bursa within the visit. It is worth to mention that Turkey is one of centers of the global medical tourism market as many foreigners select Turkish clinics for quality of services and low prices.

Within the visit, the head of Istanbul Health Department Selami Albayrak received the delegation of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the sides considered current state and perspectives of development of healthcare system in Uzbekistan and Turkey, possible directions of cooperation, as well as exchange of experience and specialists, organization of joint events and trainings for medical personal.

In Istanbul, representatives of Uzbekistan familiarized with opportunities of private medical institutions Acibadem and Memorial, as well as company Med-Exclusive, which specializes in transportation of critical ill persons.

It is worth to mention that Acidbadem and Memorial are one of key players in healthcare sector of Turkey and they provide various medical services to people, including foreign citizens. During the visit to clinics, the Uzbek delegation got acquainted with conditions, created to patients and medical staff, equipment and achievements of the institutions.

Representative of Med-Exclusive Kadir Dogruer presented services of the company on transportation of patients in critical conditions to leading medical institutions of the world and Turkey.

The delegation met with the Deputy Governor of Bursa Samet Ercoskun. At the negotiations, the sides considered issues of cooperation between two states in healthcare system. During the meeting, Turkish side presented opportunities of Bursa in healthcare system, including treatment with thermal waters.

The delegation of Uzbekistan visited such clinics as Acibadem, Medicabil (orthopedic clinic), and Bunyogoz (ophthalmological clinic), as well as clinic of Uludagu University and dispatcher service of Bursa emergency medical service.
