Uzbekistan Studies Egyptian Company’s Experience in Developing Desert Territories

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan led by Sakhi Annaklichev, Chairman of the Council for the Development of Activities of Household Landowners and Dehkan Farms, paid a working visit to Egypt, Dunyo News Agency reports.

The delegation included representatives of Turonbank, UzAgroStar Holding, Bulungur–Agro Star, Agro Gold Premium, and other sector-specific organizations. The purpose of the visit was to study the experience of the major Egyptian company Mustaqbal Misr in developing desert territories and implementing modern agricultural projects.

During the visit, participants familiarized themselves with advanced methods for the efficient use of groundwater resources and practical approaches to implementing large-scale agricultural projects. Particular attention was given to planning processes, project scale, and mechanisms for ensuring food security in Egypt’s New Delta agricultural region.

Mustaqbal Misr is implementing an integrated development project aimed at reclaiming desert lands, building infrastructure, creating new production capacities, and generating employment in western Egypt.

The parties discussed the potential application of Egypt’s experience in Uzbekistan, as well as prospects for expanding bilateral investment cooperation.

Experts noted that adapting these practices could contribute to more efficient use of land and water resources, the development of agricultural infrastructure, and the creation of new opportunities for farmers and investors.
