Uzbekistan Students to Receive Partial Reimbursement for Foreign Language Study Costs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Thousands of students in Uzbekistan will be able to partially cover the costs of studying foreign languages through state subsidies provided under the “2+6” program.

A government resolution has approved the Regulation on the Procedure for Granting Subsidies, which defines the mechanisms for partial reimbursement of youth expenses for language courses.

According to the document, an applicant who already holds a certificate confirming a minimum foreign language score pays for the first two months of study independently, after which the state covers the expenses for the next six months using funds from the Youth Policy Support Fund under the Agency for Youth Affairs.

The amount of the monthly subsidy under the “2+6” program varies by region: up to twice the base calculation value (BCV) in Tashkent; up to 1.5 BCV in the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional centers; and up to one BCV in districts and cities.

The Agency plans to provide subsidies for foreign language training to up to 20,000 young people during 2025–2026, and from 2026 to 2031 — up to 20,000 individuals annually. If the annual quota is exceeded, the provision of subsidies will be suspended until the following year.

Subsidies will only be granted to language centers that are registered on the electronic rating platform and integrated with the system that ensures daily attendance monitoring of participants.
