Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the ninth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, senators reviewed the Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

During the discussion, it was noted that the new Law is aimed at ensuring transparency in the sphere of labor migration, increasing the accountability of private employment agencies, and creating additional conveniences for both employers and employees.

The document provides for an expansion of the powers and responsibilities of private employment agencies, establishes procedures for determining the duration of overtime work, and improves the system of its remuneration.

It was emphasized that these changes will strengthen legality in the field of labor migration, guarantee the rights of migrant workers, prevent illegal activities, and encourage greater private sector involvement in providing services in this area.

Senators also highlighted that the Law is designed to protect the rights of Uzbek citizens working abroad, promote the digitalization of migration services, and foster a healthy competitive environment. Its implementation is expected to secure labor rights guarantees, enhance organizational productivity, and contribute to increasing workers’ incomes.

Following the discussion, the Senate approved the Law.
