Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 March, Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, held a meeting with Martina Klimes, Senior Advisor on Climate, Water Resources, and Peace at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

The discussion focused on the outcomes of the recent international conference, Tashkent Water Week, which saw active participation from the Afghan delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Energy.

The parties also explored prospects for bilateral cooperation aimed at improving the efficiency of regional water resource management.

Both sides confirmed their commitment to maintaining a systematic and constructive dialogue between Uzbekistan and SIWI, including regular consultations and experience sharing.

The meeting marked a step toward strengthening international cooperation in water management and sustainable development across Central Asia.
