Uzbekistan Simplifies Installation of Gas Cylinder Equipment: Vehicle Registration Certificate No Longer Required
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 November, the process for installing gas cylinder equipment (GCE) in vehicles will be simplified for drivers in Uzbekistan, the Road Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
After the installation of a gas cylinder, vehicle owners will no longer need to update their vehicle registration certificate (technical passport). All information about the vehicle modification will be stored and shared electronically through the relevant online systems.
The elimination of the mandatory update of the technical passport when installing GCE is provided for in the presidential decree dated 16 September 2025. The same decree also allows for the integration of paid government services into mobile operator applications and payment services, as well as the transfer of certain water-related procedures to online platforms.
Since February of this year, it has been possible to submit electronic applications for GCE installation through the Unified Interactive Portal of Public Services (E-IJRO). Permits are issued within 10 working days, and the cost of the service is 30% of the basic calculation amount, equivalent to 123,600 soums. The service is available only to individuals.
