Uzbekistan Signs Market Access Protocol with Ecuador
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Azizbek Urunov, Uzbekistan’s Presidential Representative for World Trade Organization affairs and chief negotiator, announced the signing of a Protocol on bilateral market access negotiations with Ecuador.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Ecuador’s Ambassador José Valencia and Ecuador’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Policy César Sánchez Icaza.
Ecuador is Uzbekistan’s second-largest trading partner in South America. The signing of the document establishes a solid foundation for the further constructive development of trade and economic relations between Central Asia and South America and has a significant impact on Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization.
Azizbek Urunov expressed gratitude to Ecuador for its active participation in the negotiations and for achieving a timely, mutually beneficial outcome, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and integration into multilateral trade systems.
