Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 17-26 January, the annual international exhibition-fair Green Week 2020 was held in the capital of Germany, Berlin. This is the 85th fair, organized since 1926 by the exhibition company Messe Berlin GmbH.
Within the framework of this exhibition-fair, more than 1,500 manufacturers from 116 countries of the world presented their products, achievements and technologies in the field of agriculture, food industry and agricultural engineering in 26 pavilions. Following the event, the exhibition was visited by more than 400 thousand people.
With the assistance of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, HC “Uzbekoziqovqatholding” and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany, a number of large farms and foreign trade companies from various regions of the Republic presented the agricultural potential of the republic at the exhibition.
At the national stand of Uzbekistan, with a total area of more than 400 sq.m., a wide assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables and melons, dried fruits, oil and wine products, spices and seasonings, as well as processed fruits and vegetables, was exhibited.
Foreign exhibitors noted the high potential of Uzbek manufacturers to strengthen their positions in the markets of European countries, and some of them during the event expressed their readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation on a long-term basis.
As a result of negotiations with foreign partners, a number of export agreements were signed for the supply to Europe of agricultural products of Uzbekistan, the total amount of which made up US$29.5 million.
