Uzbekistan Showcases Transport Reforms at EV Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 13th International Forum on Electromobility is underway in Jeju, South Korea, focusing on electric transport, green energy, and future mobility technologies across Asia.

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Ilhomjon Abdugafarov, participated in the event. He delivered a speech during the plenary session, “The Future of Electromobility in the Era of Digital Transformation and the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Transitioning to Green Transport.”

In his presentation, Abdugafarov provided a detailed overview of ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s transport sector. He highlighted efforts to modernize public transportation, accelerate digitalization, and introduce environmentally friendly modes of transport. The report outlined initiatives to develop digital platforms, shift services online, improve monitoring and control of carriers, and enhance passenger service quality.

Forum participants were also briefed on national strategies for electric vehicle adoption, reducing harmful emissions, and the phased transition to green transportation.

The forum runs through March 27, 2026, and brings together executives from more than 30 countries, including China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, South Korea, Brunei, the Philippines, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

The event serves as a platform to strengthen international cooperation in electromobility, exchange innovative solutions between the public and private sectors, showcase new technologies, and expand investment and B2B opportunities in the transport sector.
