Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the prestigious Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) in Karachi, effectively presenting the country’s tourism potential. The delegation was led by Uzbekistan’s tourism brand ambassador Hamid Mahmud Chaudhary.

Participation in PTM marked an important step in strengthening tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, highlighting the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage and diverse tourist opportunities to an international audience.

The PTM exhibition gathered leading industry representatives, including tour operators, travel agencies, hotel chains, and international exhibitors. Uzbekistan’s national stand attracted significant interest, reflecting the growing appeal of the country as a travel destination for citizens of Pakistan and other nations.

As part of the business program, Hamid Mahmud Chaudhary held meetings with high-ranking Pakistani officials, including Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Tourism and Information Technology Sardar Ilyas, and Chairman of the Tourism Development Corporation Rana Aftab ur Rehman. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, promoting joint initiatives, and strengthening intercultural ties.

Special attention was given to increasing tourist flows and developing sustainable partnerships in the tourism sector. Uzbekistan’s exhibition featured ziyarat tourism, cultural and educational tourism, business travel, and other areas, providing materials, presentations, and direct interaction with industry professionals to raise awareness of the country’s tourism potential along the historic Silk Road.

The event also offered opportunities to establish contacts with foreign tour operators and explore prospective partnerships, further expanding Uzbekistan’s presence in the international tourism market.

The successful participation demonstrated the professionalism and organizational capabilities of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan, reinforcing the country’s strategy to enhance its global tourism image, diversify tourist sources, and develop mutually beneficial cooperation with international partners.
