Uzbekistan Showcases Tourism and MICE Potential at Meet Global MICE Congress

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan participated in the international Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC), held in Moscow on 17–18 December, which brought together business tourism professionals from 37 BRICS countries and the Global South.

The forum reaffirmed Moscow’s status as one of the world’s leading centers of expertise in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector.

In 2025, the congress attracted approximately 2,500 participants, nearly double the number from the previous year and six times that of the inaugural event.

The event brought together representatives of relevant government agencies, industry associations, corporate clients, and business event organizers. Around 70 percent of participants were senior executives and decision-makers, allowing partnerships and agreements to be established directly during the congress.

Commenting on the significance of MGMC and Moscow’s potential as an international MICE destination, Aziz Mirdzhalilov, Head of the Marketing Department of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, noted that business tourism in the Russian capital harmoniously combines a rich cultural heritage with opportunities for long-term cooperation.

Uzbek companies represented at the congress included Sanat Travel Experts DMC, Inter MICE Asia, and Silk Road Samarkand, showcasing the country’s potential for hosting international business events.

Within the MGMC framework, more than 8,000 B2B meetings took place, aimed at establishing new contacts, finding partners, and planning future events.

The business program featured 15 sessions covering topics such as “Conferences and Exhibitions,” “Destinations and Associations,” “Global Trends and Analytics,” “Business,” “Technology,” and more. The central theme of MGMC 2025 was “Unity through Open Diversity: New Opportunities for Global Growth.”

A total of over 130 exhibitors participated in the congress, including MICE operators, congress bureaus, hotels, and transportation companies. A significant portion of attendees represented markets from the Middle East and Southeast Asia, reflecting the growing role of these regions in the global business agenda.

Launched in 2023, Meet Global MICE Congress has quickly become one of the key international platforms for exchanging experience, developing partnerships, and discussing strategies in the field of business tourism.
