Uzbekistan Showcases the Future of Ecotourism at Eco Expo Central Asia 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 19 to 21 June 2025, the largest international exhibition of environmental technologies Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 is being held at the Central Asian Expo (CAEx) exhibition complex in Tashkent. The event focuses on environmental protection, sustainable development, and the green economy.
As part of the exhibition, the Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan is presenting a national stand that highlights the country's achievements in ecotourism, emphasizing the harmonious integration of national traditions with modern technologies.
Spanning 187 square meters, Uzbekistan’s exhibition area is designed in a style that reflects the country's architectural heritage and natural diversity. The stand aims not only to familiarize visitors with the concept of sustainable tourism but also to immerse them in its philosophy through visual, digital, and interactive experiences.
The central feature of the stand is a dome shaped like a vertical garden, stylistically inspired by Uzbekistan’s architectural monuments.
A VR installation allows visitors to take virtual journeys through the country’s most picturesque eco-routes — including Charvak, Nurata, Ugam-Chatkal, and other natural destinations. Touchscreen panels introduce guests to innovative developments in green energy and sustainable infrastructure.
The presentation zone, decorated in an oriental style using recycled materials, hosts lectures and open discussions featuring experts. Topics range from technological solutions in the green economy to the impact of ecotourism on biodiversity and sustainable growth. Special attention is given to environmental responsibility, the role of investment in green projects, and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
Interactive pavilions showcase the latest tourism-related technologies — from energy-efficient solutions for hotels and recreational areas to sustainable service concepts and startup innovations. Also featured are companies specializing in healthy nutrition, organic products, dietetics, and cutting-edge food technologies. Visitors can explore new trends, receive professional consultations, and take part in tasting sessions.
A dedicated business zone has been set up for negotiations, keynote speeches from international experts, the exchange of best practices, and discussions on strategies to minimize tourism’s environmental footprint. Emphasis is placed on developing sustainable routes, engaging local communities, and preserving natural resources.
A symbolic highlight of the national stand is a yurt-shaped installation — a tribute to traditional lifestyles in harmony with nature and a metaphor for the transition from environmental challenges to sustainable solutions.
A prominent section of the exhibit is the project zone, featuring a large-scale model of the all-season Parkent ski resort, being developed in collaboration with Austrian partners. Spanning 1,200 hectares, the resort will include hotels of various categories, ski trails, lifts, dining establishments, and wellness centers. The project is expected to become a major tourism hub in the Tashkent region, alongside the well-known Amirsoy resort.
Also featured at the stand is a creative workshop where visitors can participate in masterclasses in ceramic painting, carpet weaving, and making souvenirs from recycled materials, underscoring the project's cultural and environmental focus.
The year 2025 has been declared the Year of Environmental Protection and the Green Economy in Uzbekistan, with sustainable tourism occupying a central place in the national strategy for sector development. Growing international interest in Uzbekistan — over 1.1 million tourist visits recorded in May 2025 alone — reflects the success of reforms aimed at making tourism more open, environmentally friendly, and investment-attractive.
Uzbekistan’s participation in Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 underscores the country's ambition to lead the region in developing environmentally conscious tourism and to demonstrate its readiness for active international cooperation in this field. The national stand serves not only as a showcase of Uzbekistan’s sustainable tourism but also as a platform for constructive dialogue, experience sharing, and the development of effective future-oriented solutions.
