Uzbekistan Showcases Pharmaceutical Potential at World Health Expo in Dubai
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 9 to 12 February, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan is participating in the World Health Expo in Dubai, UAE, as part of the national “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion.
The exhibition is organized under the initiative of the JSC “Trade Development Company” and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with domestic enterprises. Hosted by the Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates, the event is one of the largest and most authoritative regional platforms in the healthcare sector. It provides opportunities for economic analysis, B2B meetings, business forums, and trade negotiations, creating broad prospects for expanding the export of Uzbek pharmaceutical products, enhancing international cooperation, and establishing new business contacts.
During the Expo, agency representatives held meetings with leading international pharmaceutical companies, including Meyer Group, Hiba Pharma, Toei Shinyaku, New Country Healthcare, among others. The discussions focused on potential avenues for collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry.
Participants were presented with detailed information about the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, its infrastructure capabilities, and the favorable conditions established in Uzbekistan for manufacturing and logistics. Foreign partners were briefed on investment incentives, including tax and customs benefits, state support mechanisms for investment projects, and additional opportunities provided by the government.
Negotiations covered topics such as localizing pharmaceutical production, technology transfer, implementing joint investment projects, and accessing the domestic market.
On the first day of the exhibition, agency representatives also met with the Korean organization Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation (K-MEDIHUB) to discuss prospects for collaboration in healthcare and pharmaceutical innovation, exchange information on goals and key activities, and explore opportunities for international experience sharing.
Special attention was given to developing international scientific cooperation, conducting joint research, and implementing programs to enhance the qualifications of specialists. The meetings were held in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides expressing readiness to expand cooperation further and move toward practical implementation of joint initiatives.
