Uzbekistan Sends 183 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Uzbekistan has sent another shipment of humanitarian aid weighing 183 tons to Afghanistan’s Balkh Province, following the instruction of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration.
The humanitarian cargo — a gesture of goodwill and solidarity from the Uzbek people — included flour, rice, sugar, pasta, vegetable oil, confectionery, instant foods, as well as red beans and mung beans. The shipment was delivered to the city of Hairatan, located on the Afghan-Uzbek border.
A formal handover ceremony took place with the participation of Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan; Ulugbek Kosimov, Governor of Surkhandarya Region; Nurulkhodi Abuidris, Deputy Governor of Balkh Province; and other officials from both sides.
The Afghan side expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan for their timely and meaningful support, emphasizing the special significance of the aid in light of the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha, and extended warm congratulations to the brotherly Uzbek nation.
