Uzbekistan Senate to Hold 14th Plenary Session on 7 April

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution to convene its 14th plenary session on 7 April 2026. The preparatory council meeting reviewed the session’s agenda in detail.

Key topics on the agenda include socio-economic reforms, improvements to the judicial system, protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms, and enhancing the efficiency of public administration.

The session will discuss laws on urban redevelopment, highways, real estate activities, and forensic expertise. Legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening compensation mechanisms for harm caused by unlawful government actions, enhancing security services, and regulating payment system operators and organizations will also be considered.

Additional focus areas include labor rights, increased accountability for environmental violations, and the ratification of an extradition agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The session will also include the Human Rights Commissioner’s report on 2025 activities, the election of a new ombudsman, and the appointment of Uzbekistan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

The plenary session aims to strengthen the legislative framework and improve government effectiveness across social, economic, judicial, and international cooperation spheres.
