In 2017, law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan revealed 5429 facts of crimes related to drug trafficking against 6646 facts in 2016.

Of the total number of crimes identified, 2,233 are crimes related to the sale of drugs, 553 - with smuggling, 1,142 - with illicit cultivation of narcotic plants, 95 - with drug stores and 1456 - other drug offenses.

Law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan in 2017 seized more than 1.99 tonnes of narcotic drugs, which is 56% less than the same period last year.

In particular, last year the country seized 12.43 kg of heroin (107.75 kg in 2016), 797.9 (1 ton 446.8 kg) kg of opium, 916.6 (883.2) kg of marijuana, 78,5 (241.1) kg of hashish, 188.2 (862.8) kg of kuknar, 361.7 (579) grams new psysoactive substances and other synthetic drugs.
