Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan experienced a decline in the production of gasoline, crude oil, and natural gas in the first half of 2025, while coal extraction and diesel fuel output showed notable growth.

According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, the country saw reduced volumes in the extraction and production of several key energy resources between January and June 2025.

Natural gas production amounted to 21.78 billion cubic meters, marking a 3.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. A similar trend was observed in the oil sector, where 323,800 tonnes of crude oil were extracted — down 11.2% year-on-year.

The most significant drop occurred in gasoline production, which fell by 14.8%, totaling 575,600 tonnes.

In contrast, the coal industry recorded a positive performance: 3.07 million tonnes of coal were produced in the first half of the year, representing a 16.5% increase from the previous year.

Diesel fuel production also showed growth, reaching 557,500 tonnes — a 10.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
