He said that unfavorable situation in the Russian market, devaluation of Russian ruble and measures on protection of national carmaker are behind the sales drop of GM Uzbekistan.
Uzbek minister said that Russia introduced discriminating measures, including bonus utilization of automobiles of Russian carmaker.
The Uzbek side called to create equal conditions for Uzbek car exporters, including in crediting of automobile purchases, Russian media reported.
In the protocol of the session, Uzbekistan and Russia entrusted relevant authorities of the two countries to organize bilateral consultations on related issues by 1 May 2015.
About 90% of GM Uzbekistan exports fall to share Russia. In January-October 2014, GM Uzbekistan has sold 49,000 cars, which is 32% less than the same period in 2013.
Last year, GM Uzbekistan increased production of cars by 4.5% year-on-year to 246,000 in 2013. It is expected that this year’s production volume will reach 250,000.
