Uzbekistan–Russia Conference on Strategic Eurasian Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30–31 March 2026, Termez will host the Uzbekistan–Russia conference titled “Uzbekistan – Russia: Strategic Partnership in the Eurasian Space.”
The event is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the International Discussion Club Valdai. It will bring together leading experts from government bodies, research centers, and the business community of both countries.
Key Uzbek participants include Eldor Aripov, Director of ISMI; Ulugbek Kosimov, Hokim of Surkhandarya Region; Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov; First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos; and Umid Abidhodjaev, Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Russian delegation will include Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin; Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov; Andrey Bystritsky, Chairman of the Valdai Club Council; Fyodor Lukyanov, Director for Research at the Valdai Club Development Fund; Timofey Bordachyov, Program Director of Valdai Club; and Herman Lerner, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, among others.
The conference aims to strengthen Uzbekistan–Russia strategic partnership, emphasizing trade, investment, transport, technology, and digitalization. Discussions will focus on security and stability in Eurasia, industrial cooperation, investment promotion, transport connectivity, and international trade infrastructure development.
A special interregional session will involve representatives from the Republic of Tatarstan and Termez, providing a practical forum to discuss industrial, investment, and humanitarian cooperation projects and define concrete steps for advancing interregional collaboration.
The event will be held at the Termez International Trade Center, a strategic transport hub in southern Uzbekistan, and serves as a traditional platform for maintaining expert dialogue and bilateral cooperation.
