Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The World Justice Project, an international civil society organization, has published its next report on the rule of law 2020 index. According to the report, the Republic of Uzbekistan in the overall ranking with 0.47 points rose to 92 positions.
Over the past years, the Republic of Uzbekistan has shown positive results in terms of Order and Security (11th place in the world with 0.9 points) of the Rule of Law index. In 2020, the most significant progress was observed in the No corruption indicator - 89th place with 0.4 points (in 2019, 95th place with 0.38 points).
Uzbekistan has achieved the greatest progress among the CIS countries.
The rule of law index is ranked on a scale of 0 (lowest) 1 (highest). The index is analyzed according to 8 main factors and is divided into 44 sub-indicators: restriction of authority of government institutions, lack of corruption, transparency of government institutions, protection of fundamental rights, order and security, compliance with laws, civil justice and criminal justice. this index is estimated based on the General Population Poll (GPP) and Qualified Respondents ‘Questionnaires (QRQs) summarized by the World Justice Project.
In particular, a survey in the Republic of Uzbekistan is conducted in Tashkent, Namangan and Samarkand regions.
The number of countries in the 2020 report increased to 128 due to the inclusion of Kosovo and the Gambia. As a result, Uzbekistan climbed 4 points in the overall ranking.
