Uzbekistan Reviews Reforms and Plans for 2026 with International Advisory Council
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Bahodir Rakhmatov, Director of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms, held an online meeting with the International Advisory Council, including Alfred Gusenbauer, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, and Štefan Füle.
The discussion focused on the current state of cooperation with the Council and reviewed the outcomes of 2025. Recommendations from the international consultants were taken into account in several adopted acts, including Presidential Decree No. UP–186 of 22 October 2025, while other proposals were incorporated into draft documents such as the Pension Reform Concept and the Demographic Policy Strategy.
This year, working visits of the Uzbek delegation were organized to Austria, Poland, and the Czech Republic, alongside Council visits to regions within Uzbekistan.
Following these activities, measures were implemented to develop “smart” infrastructure, regional cooperation, tourism, and education.
The Council highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s key reforms and emphasized that the signing of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation with the European Union will serve as a foundation for further strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting also addressed prospects and a new format of cooperation with the Council for 2026.
