Uzbekistan Registers Over 18,700 Foreign-Invested Firms

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 March 2026, Uzbekistan has registered 18,770 companies with foreign capital, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Among these, 4,365 are joint ventures with local partners, while 14,405 are fully foreign-owned enterprises.

Over the past five years, the number of foreign-invested companies has increased 1.4 times. The share of fully foreign-owned firms rose from 55.2% to 76.7%, highlighting Uzbekistan’s growing appeal to international investors.

China leads the list with 5,257 companies, followed by Russia with 3,214 and Turkey with 2,173. Other leading investor countries include Kazakhstan (1,232), South Korea (709), Afghanistan (653), Azerbaijan (430), the UAE (421), Tajikistan (420), and India (397).

The rise in foreign enterprises underscores the success of Uzbekistan’s investment policies and ongoing efforts to enhance the business climate.
