Uzbekistan receives US$2.9 billion of remittances from Russia in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In 2018, the volume of remittances of individuals transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan through payment systems made up US$2.9 billion, according to the data of the Central Bank of Russia.

According to the regulator, the average amount of transfer from Russia to Uzbekistan in the reporting period was US$453.

At the same time, funds in the amount of US$129.9 million were sent from Uzbekistan to Russia in 2018. The average amount of remittances from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation was US$977.

In the fourth quarter, transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan reached US$735.6 million (the average transfer amount was US$466) and from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation – US$31.8 million (US$918).

According to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the total amount of cross-border transfers of individuals from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation in 2018 reached US$4.08 billion, and from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation - US$397 million.
