Uzbekistan Ratifies International Convention on Recognition of Degrees
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law ratifying the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, adopted in Paris on 25 November 2019.
The law aims to further strengthen the international integration of national education systems and establish uniform rules for recognizing qualifications obtained in different countries.
The convention ensures universal recognition of educational documents and simplifies the academic and professional recognition of diplomas, certificates, and other qualifications.
As the first UN international agreement in the field of higher education, the Global Convention establishes universal mechanisms for fair and transparent evaluation of educational credentials.
It promotes interregional academic mobility, supports the free movement of students, faculty, and researchers, enshrines common principles for recognizing qualifications, and fosters closer cooperation between countries in the field of education.
