Uzbekistan Ranks 81st in Global Rule of Law Index with Score of 0.5
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has ranked 81st out of 143 countries in the World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index, scoring 0.5.
The country scored lowest in the “Constraints on Government Powers” category, placing 114th with a score of 0.37, compared to the global average of 0.54.
In the “Absence of Corruption” category, Uzbekistan ranked 67th with a score of 0.47, slightly below the global average of 0.51.
For “Open Government,” the country scored 0.37, earning 120th place worldwide (global average – 0.52), while in the “Fundamental Rights” category, it ranked 110th with a score of 0.43 versus the global average of 0.56.
Uzbekistan’s strongest performance was in the “Order and Security” category, with a score of 0.90, placing it 17th globally, above the global average of 0.72.
Other category results include: “Regulatory Enforcement” – 100th place, 0.45 (global average – 0.54); “Civil Justice” – 73rd place, 0.52; and “Criminal Justice” – 68th place, 0.46 (global average – 0.47).
The Rule of Law Index is compiled annually by the independent international organization World Justice Project based on surveys of citizens and experts. It evaluates key indicators such as public safety, law enforcement, protection of human rights, and the effectiveness of government institutions.
