Uzbekistan Railways to use investments for US$800m
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) is planning to realize 28 projects in 2016 and use investments for US$801.03 million and attract US$799.22 million.
In particular, it is planned to complete construction of railway Angren – Pap with electrification of railroad Qoqand – Andijan, organize high speed railway communication between Samarkand and Bukhara, construction of new railway Navoi-Kanimeh-Misken, completion of electrification of Qarshi-Termez line.
Uzbekistan Temir Yollari is also planning to purchase new passenger locomotives.
It is worth to mention that the railway company used investments for US$755.16 million within 17 projects in 2015.
Uzbekistan Temir Yollari implement projects on construction of Angren – Pap railway in 2015. It also started works on construction and electrification of Samarkand – Bukhara railway, as well as construction of new railway Navoi-Kanimeh-Misken.
The company received 11 cargo electric locomotives in2 015. In the result, the company updated over 50% of its locomotive fleet.
