Uzbekistan prolongs tax holidays for craftsmen

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on 30 March 2010 to prolong tax preferences for individual businesses, members of the Hunarmand Association.

The decree was adopted for further supporting development of traditional fields and applied arts, ensuring favourable conditions for attracting wide layers of population, including youth, to creative work.

In line with the document, individual businesses, occupied with production of goods of traditional and applied art, are exempted from payment of fixed tax till 1 April 2012.

Craftsmen were exempted from payment of fixed tax till 1 April 2010 in line with the presidential decree from 1 April 2010 “On additional measuring on stimulating development of traditional fields and applied arts”.

Uzbek President entrusted Hunarmand Association in cooperation with Uzbekistan State Tax Committee to clarify list of individuals businesses, who will receive tax holidays, within a months.
