Uzbekistan produces industrial goods for 94 trln. soums in Jan-Jun

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enterprises of Uzbekistan, according to preliminary data, produced industrial products worth 94.0 trillion soums in January-June 2018, which grew by 10.7% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The main growth factor in the total volume of industrial production was the increase in manufacturing industry by 7.3% (contribution to the increase in the total volume of industrial production 5.7 points), mining and quarrying - by 32.8% (contribution to growth 4.6 point), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 1.4% (contribution to the growth of 0.1 points), water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 36.2% (contribution to the increase of 0.3 points).

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-June of 2018 amounted to 15.6 trillion soums, or 16.6% of the total volume of industry.

Compared to the same period last year, there was an increase in mining of crushed stone by 1.6 times, kaolin by 1.8 times, gas condensate by 17.9%, natural gas by 6.3%. At the same time, there is a decrease in oil production by 9.7%, coal - by 14.8%.

Manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 70.5 trillion soums in January-June 2018, the growth rate by the corresponding period of the previous year was 7.3%.

In the structure of manufacturing industry, relative to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries made up 1.2% (2.0% in January-June 2017), medium-high-tech - 28.0% (19.5%), medium-low-tech - 31.5% (25.9%) and low-tech- 39.3% (52.6%).

In the manufacturing industry, in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year, the production of tractors increased 5.6 times, paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers by 28.2%, automobile engines by 22.9%, cars (without specialized) - 18.4%, diesel fuel - 17.9%, vegetable oil - 10.5%, motor gasoline - 3.1%, cotton fiber - 1.4%. At the same time, the production of buses, trucks and portland cement, compared with the corresponding period last year, decreased.

The volume of products produced by the enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning reached 7.0 trillion soums (7.5% of the total volume of industry).

In this industry in January-June of 2018, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, production, transmission and distribution of electricity increased by 1.4%, and production and distribution of gaseous fuels - by 1.0%.

The volume of products produced by water supply, sewage, waste collection and disposal enterprises amounted to 955.9 billion soums (1.0% of the total volume of industry). In c

omparison with the corresponding period of the previous year, there is an increase in recyclables containing ferrous metals by 32.8%, recyclables containing aluminum by 73.9%, services for processing and distribution of water by water - by 22.8%, services for removal, transportation of sewage and their processing, by 20.7%.

As a result of the measures taken to expand the assortment and stimulate the output of finished goods, the production of consumer goods made up 31.0 trillion soums and, compared with January-June 2017, increased by 5.8%, the share in the total volume of industry was 33, 0%.

Compared with the same period of 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-June this year, an increase in the share of production of non-food products from 58.1% to 62.5%.

The largest share in the structure of output of industrial output of Uzbekistan was in Tashkent city (17.3% of the republican industrial volume), Tashkent region (16.4%), Navoi (11.4%), Andijan (10.3%), Kashkadarya (6.9%), Fergana (5.9%) regions.

At the same time, the smallest share falls on Surkhandarya (1.4% of the republican industrial output), Jizzakh (1.5%), Syrdarya (2.0%), Namangan (2.3%) and Khorezm (2.6%) regions.

It should be noted that the implementation of high-tech projects for production of competitive products contributed to a significant increase in production in Surkhandarya (+29.9% by January-June 2017), Andijan (+25.6%), Khorezm (+14.2%), Tashkent (+9.5%), Kashkadarya (+9.4%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+9.7%).

Analysis of the differentiation of output of industrial products per capita showed an excess of the average republican indicator (2.68 million soums) in Navoi region (11.11 million soums), Tashkent city (6.55 million soums), Tashkent (5.37 million soums) and Andijan (3.21 million soums) regions.

In terms of regions, high growth rates of per capita output of industrial output were observed in Surkhandarya (+27.2% in January-June of 2017), Andijan (+23.5%) and Khorezm (+12.5%) regions. At the same time, low growth rates were observed in Samarkand (-1.1%) and Navoi (-0.2%) regions.

Dynamic development of industrial activity of small business entities ensured the growth of industrial production by the corresponding period of the previous year by 6.6%, while the share of small business in industry was 31,1%.

In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Tashkent (68.0% of total industry in the region), Namangan (63.7%), Jizzakh (60.8%) and Samarkand (52.4%). At the same time, the smallest share of small business was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (13.7%), Navoi (12.9%), Tashkent (17.8%), Kashkadarya (20.2%) and Andijan (20.9%) regions.

At present, there are more than 52,800 industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, of which 5 573 enterprises are newly established in the reporting period. Almost 69% of newly established enterprises are located in Tashkent city, Tashkent, Ferghana, Andijan, Samarkand and Namangan regions.
