Uzbekistan produces industrial goods for 151.2 trln. soums in 9m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-September 2018, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products for 151.2 trillion soum, which grew by 10.8% year-on-year.

The main factor behind the growth in total industrial production was an increase in manufacturing in the manufacturing industry by 8.3%, mining and quarrying - by 28.8%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – by 1.1%, water supply , sewage, waste collection and disposal - by 25.6%.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-September 2018 made up 24.7 trillion soums or 16.4% of the total industry.

Compared to the same period of last year, there was a 1.4 times increase in production of rubble, kaolin by 1.5 times, gas condensate by 12.9%, and natural gas by 7.1%. At the same time, there was a decrease in oil production by 9.6% and coal - by 4.2%.

In January-September 2018, manufacturing enterprises produced goods for 114.8 trillion soums, growth rates compared to the corresponding period of last year was 8.3%.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries was 1.4% (1.9% in January-September 2017), medium-high-tech – 28.2% (21.3%), medium-low-tech – 31.4% (27.4%) and low-tech 39% (49.4%).

Medium-high-tech manufactures of Uzbekistan made a significant contribution to the growth of manufacturing products – 6.3%, the growth rates of which compared to the same period of 2017 amounted to 25.6%.

The overhaul of technological equipment allowed to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and to exceed the production of the previous year in potassium chloride (23.5% compared to January-September 2017), ammonium nitrate (15.3%), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (31.7%), superphosphates (52.7%), formaldehyde (1.7 times), mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (2.6 times).

The implementation of a set of measures to localize production of agricultural machinery supplied to agriculture also contributed to the growth of products of medium-high-tech industries of the republic. Compared with January-September 2017, large enterprises increased production: plows – 60.3 times, Tractors 5 times, Combine harvesters - by 13.1% and mowers - by 1.2%.

The contribution to increase in the output of the manufacturing industry by enterprises of the medium-low-tech industries during the reporting period was 1.4%. At the same time, implementation of measures to improve in accordance with modern requirements of corporate governance systems, including through introduction of international standards for managing production, foreign economic and investment processes in order to ensure the most complete utilization of metallurgical production capacities, ensured an increase in the efficiency of management of metallurgical enterprises (3.9%) and an increase in production: bars and rods made of iron or not alloyed steel (+50.9%), shaped and special profiles (61.3%), copper foil (24.1%).

The volume of production by enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning amounted to 10.1 trillion soums (6.7% of the total industry).

In this industry in January-September 2018, compared with the corresponding period of last year, the production, transmission and distribution of electricity increased by 1.1%, and the production and distribution of gaseous fuels - by 0.6%.

The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal reached 1.5 trillion soums (1% of the total industry).

Compared with the corresponding period of last year, there is an increase in recycled materials containing ferrous metals, by 27.1%, recycled materials containing aluminum - by 1.9 times, processing services and the distribution of water through pipelines - by 30.3%, services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 30.5%.

As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, consumer goods production reached 57.3 trillion. soums and, compared with January - September 2017, increased by 7.9%, the share in the total industry was 37.9%.

Compared to the same period in 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-September 2018 there is an increase in the share of non-food products from 62.5% to 66.5%.

In the structure of the production of food products, the production of wine-vodka products and beer was 7.5% (6.8% in January-September of 2017).

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced goods for 58.5 trillion soums, growth rates compared to the corresponding period of last year reached 22.6%.

If in the previous year the share of joint ventures in the total production volume was equal to 31.6%, in the reporting period it increased and reached 38.7%.

The contribution to increase in industrial production of Uzbekistan of joint ventures in January-September 2018 was 7.9%, ensuring an acceleration of the pace of reform and liberalization of the economy, as well as an increase in the competitiveness of products on the world market.

In the total volume of joint venture products, the share of mining and quarrying enterprises was 22.5% and manufacturing industry – 77.4%.

In the structure of industrial production of Uzbekistan, the largest share falls on Tashkent city (18.8% of the republican industry), Tashkent (15.9%), Navoi (10.7%), Andijan (10.6%), Kashkadarya (6.4%) and Ferghana (5.9%) regions.

At the same time, the smallest share falls on Surkhandarya (1.3% of the republican industry), Jizzakh (1.4%), Syrdarya (2%), Namangan (2.5%) and Khorezm (2.6%) regions.

The consistent implementation of measures to increase the industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in production in Andijan (31.5% compared to January-September 2017), Surkhandarya (17.2%), Khorezm (14.4%), Namangan (11.6%), Tashkent (9.1%) regions.

Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the average national indicator (4.59 million soums) in Navoi region (16.85 million soums), Tashkent (11.45 million soums), Tashkent (8.36 million soums) and Andijan (5.26 million soums) regions.

However, significantly lower than the average national production per capita in Surkhandarya (790,4 thousand soums), Namangan (1369,2 thousand soums), and Jizzakh (1575,0 thousand soums) regions.

The dynamic development of industrial activity of small businesses ensured the growth of industrial production by the corresponding period of last year by 6.8%, while the share of small business in industry was 34.2%.

In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Tashkent city (71.6% of total industry of the region), Namangan (69.7%), Jizzakh (66.6%) and Samarkand (52%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share of small businesses was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (17.7%), Navoi (14.4%), Tashkent (20%), Andijan (21.6%) and Kashkadarya (22.2%) regions.
