Uzbekistan produces construction materials for 989.4bn soums in 1Q

Enterprises of construction materials industry of Uzbekistan increased production of goods by 14% year-on-year to 989.4 billion soums in the first quarter of 2014, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The committee said that the share of the industry in total volume of production of Uzbekistan rose from 5.1% in January-March 2013 to 6.1% in the same period of 2014.
Large industrial enterprises in the industry increased production of glazed ceramic plates for ovens, floors and walls, paving slabs - 1.9 times, prefabricated elements and other products for buildings and structures from cement, concrete or artificial stone - in 1.6 times, building bricks and blocks of cement, concrete or artificial stone - 1.3 times, mortars and mixtures - 1.3 times.
The country also increased production of cement clicker by 13.5% in the reporting period, gypsum – 12.3% and Portlandcement – 4.3%.
