The share of the sector in total industrial output of Uzbekistan made up 5%, the State Statistics Committee said.
In the reporting period, the companies of the industry increased production of kaolin ( by 4.7 times), the glass sheet (25.8%), marble, travertine, alabaster and articles thereof (17.1%), ceramic roof tiles (16,7%), construction of ceramic bricks (non-refractory) (16.5%).
Uzbekistan also increased production of mortars and mixtures by 2 times, the lime - by 46.8%, Portland cement - by 12.3% and gypsum - 5.4%.
The largest volume of production of construction materials was recorded in Tashkent (20.9% of total industry), Navoi (20.1%), Ferghana (12.5%) regions and the city of Tashkent (11.2%).
Small enterprises increased their output by 24.4% in 2015 compared to 2014. Their share in total volume of production in the industry was 52.0%.
Currently, Uzbekistan has 5065 enterprises of building materials. In 2015, some 720 enterprises were launched in Uzbekistan.
