Uzbekistan privatizes 609 enterprises in 2016

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 609 enterprises and objects (including program and non-program projects) were privatized in Uzbekistan in January-December 2016, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said quoting data of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Privatization, Demonopolization and Development of Competition.

In the reporting period, the greatest number of projects was privatized in Tashkent region – 142, the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 69, Fergana region – 64, Surkhandarya region – 52, Kashkadarya region – 51.

In the structure of privatized state property, the highest share falls upon projects of local authorities – 396 projects.

Receipts of money from privatization of state property amounted to 164.8 billion soums in January-December 2016.

The most part of receipts received from privatization of state property was marked in the city of Tashkent (55% of total receipts), Tashkent region (10%), Fergana region (6.1%), Namangan region (5.3%), and Bukhara region (4.6%).
