Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Russia together with the Association “Uztekstilprom” and PJSC “Roslegprom” organized a business forum in the format of the “Road show” on the topic “Production, investment and export potential of the textile industry of Uzbekistan”.

It was attended by a delegation led by the head of the executive office of the Uztekstilprom Association J. Rustambekov, representatives of Russian companies involved in the production and import of textile products, as well as employees of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, banking and financial institutions, and the all-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya .

The business forum spoke about the prospects for sustainable and long-term cooperation with Russian partners, and also discussed the implementation of joint promising projects and the organization of production and export of finished textile products from Uzbekistan.

The meeting participants were informed about the export potential of the textile industry of our country, its capabilities in the production of high-quality, natural and environmentally friendly products. The prospects for further expansion of the Association’s cooperation with Russian partners and regions were discussed.

Within the framework of the event, a cooperation exchange in the B2B format was held, a mini-exhibition of textile products was organized, which aroused keen interest among the guests of the event.

As a result of negotiations, domestic textile enterprises entered into contracts worth more than three million dollars, as well as framework agreements and arrangements with more than 20 Russian enterprises for the export of a wide range of goods and assortment of textile and hosiery products.

Representatives of the Association took part in the VI All-Russian forum of light industry in the city of Ivanovo. During the event, Uztekstilieksport LLC and Galtex LLC entered into a contract for the supply of cotton fabric in the amount of US$50 million. In addition, the perspectives of establishing cooperation between the Uztekstilprom Association and Sberbank of Russia and leading companies in this industry were discussed on the sidelines of the Road Show.

Within the framework of the event, together with representatives of the Bukhara Brilliant Silk company, a fashion show of alkaline products was held.

According to Russian experts, such visits by business delegations of Uzbekistan help to inform Russian companies about the huge and unique potential of textile products produced in the country.
