Uzbekistan Presents “New Tashkent” Project at Seminar in Beijing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A technological seminar dedicated to quality housing construction and the development of eco-friendly, convenient, and “smart” cities was held in Beijing as part of the Conference of Ministers of Construction of China and Central Asian countries.

The event was attended by Sherzod Khidoyatov, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the seminar, participants discussed key issues in the development of the construction sector, exchanged experiences with heads of relevant departments from Central Asia and China, as well as leading specialists and international experts.

The seminar program included presentations on best practices for implementing innovative construction technologies, erecting energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable buildings, and applying the “smart city” concept.

The Uzbek delegation presented the “New Tashkent” project, developed based on modern urban planning principles, which attracted strong interest and received positive feedback from participants.

Additionally, the seminar explored prospects for expanding cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the production of construction materials, architecture, engineering solutions, and innovative technologies.

In discussions with participants, Minister Sherzod Khidoyatov outlined the large-scale reforms in construction and urban development carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan. In particular, he highlighted efforts led by the head of state to create modern, eco-friendly, and comfortable residential spaces in the country.

The seminar also addressed the introduction of advanced technologies in Uzbekistan, the modernization of industry, the production of energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable building materials, and the gradual implementation of the “smart city” concept into practice.

Events like this strengthen regional cooperation, promote the adoption of modern technologies, and advance the construction of sustainable, convenient, and “smart” cities.
