Uzbekistan preparing to sign Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the EU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the country plans to sign an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union “in the coming months.” He made this statement in his address to participants of the high-level meeting “Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Europe — Cooperation for Common Development.”

According to the President, Azerbaijan plays the role of a strategic bridge connecting Central Asia and Europe.

He emphasized that Uzbekistan’s relations with Europe have entered “an entirely new stage of development.”

“Together with the European Union and other partners, we will continue purposeful efforts to develop efficient transport, logistics, and energy corridors. I am confident that these measures will help restore our region’s role as a key hub between the West and the East,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
