Uzbekistan possesses great tourism potential – UNWTO head

He said that significant changes are observed in tourism sector and new tourism routes, and existing transport communications are reconstructed and new ones are constructed in Uzbekistan in recent years. He added that all these serve for development of infrastructure and growth of tourists inflow into Uzbekistan.

“Cooperation with foreign companies are expanding and strengthening. This fair, which has been held since 1995, is largest international forum in the Central Asian region.”

These are results of wide-scale social-economic reforms in Uzbekistan. Next UNWTO meeting, which will be held in Samarkand, will promote Silk Road brand in world tourism market, he added.
