Uzbekistan plans to take measures to prevent helminthiasis among children

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved a state programme on further strengthening reproductive health of population, protection of health of mothers, children and teenagers in Uzbekistan for 2014-2018.

According to the programme, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Justice will prepare a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures on preventing and treating helminthiasis among children for 2015-2018” by November 2014.

The draft resolution will envisage measures on preventing and treating helminthiasis among children, including improving sanitary and hygiene conditions at kindergartens and schools, as well as purchasing of anthelminthic products.

It is also planned to carry out explanation works among population on adhering to sanitary and hygienic norms and improving medical culture.
