Uzbekistan plans to set new rules for departure of citizens to abroad in 2019
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to establish new rules for departure of citizens to abroad in 2019.
The draft resolution of the President “On measures to further improve the passport system in the Republic of Uzbekistan” was published for discussion.
According to the document, from 1 January 2019, the regulation on the procedure for departure of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be introduced.
It is expected that from 1 January 2019, the procedure for issuing an authorization sticker for traveling abroad will be canceled.
The regulation noted that citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have the right to freely travel abroad, with the exception of restrictions established by law.
When traveling abroad, citizens are issued a biometric passport for traveling abroad. Citizens, who are abroad, should also have biometric passport for traveling abroad.
A biometric passport for traveling abroad is a document certifying the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan and identity of its owner when traveling abroad and entering the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as staying abroad, is valid for travel to any countries of the world.
Biometric passport for going abroad is issued to citizens with a validity period:
- from the date of birth to one year - for a period of two years;
- from one year to 16 years of age - for a period of 5 years;
- persons over 16 years of age - for a period of 10 years.
