Uzbekistan Plans to Launch Islamic Finance Services in Three Banks by 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to introduce Islamic finance services in three commercial banks by 2030.
These plans are set out in the updated Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy, which has been submitted for public discussion on the SOVAZ platform.
The document предусматривает the establishment of a legal and regulatory framework for Islamic finance, enabling the introduction of relevant financial products within the national banking system.
According to the strategy, the first bank offering Islamic finance services is expected to begin operations in 2027, the second in 2029, and the third in 2030.
The implementation of these measures is aimed at expanding the country’s financial sector and attracting additional investment in line with the principles of Islamic economics.
