A draft resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures for additional financial support of Uzbekneftegaz for the period 2018-2019” was published on the portal for discussion of the regulatory legal acts.

The document stressed that the Uzbekneftegaz, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan and Uzgosneftegazinspektsiya were instructed within two months to submit a draft Governmental decision on introduction of progressive norms of natural gas consumption by the population aimed at its effective and rational use, taking into account the protection of the rights and interests of the poor population by establishing a social norms of consumption of natural gas.

At the same time, it is proposed to set tariff for the volume of natural gas consumed above the social norm. This tariff will be twice higher than normal price, set for natural gas.

The draft resolution said that measures will be taken to improve the system of accounting of natural gas through introduction of cost-effective projects that take into account the impact of weather and climate conditions of regions and social factors on natural gas consumption.
