Uzbekistan plans to establish medals for school graduates

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan intends to establish gold and silver medals for graduates of secondary general education institutions, which will give preferences for admission to universities.

The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to further stimulate graduates of secondary educational institutions” was published on the portal for discussion of draft legal documents. Medals will be established in connection with the transition to 11-year education.

The gold and silver medals will be given to graduates of schools for excellent grades in 10 and 11 classes of general schools.

According to the document, graduates with gold medals receive a 50% discount to admission to universities and silver medals - 30%.

The draft resolution notes that the preference will be valid for one year.

The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan will publish on its website, by 10 June, information about the graduates, who received the medals and the certificates.
