Uzbekistan plans to attract loans for US$1.62 billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to attract loans in the amount of more than US$1.62 billion to overcome the negative consequences of coronavirus. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov.

According to him, Uzbekistan plans to attract IMF funds in the amount of US$375 million, the World Bank - US$750 million and the Asian Development Bank - US$500 million.

Finance Minister Timur Ishmetov noted that funds worth more than US$1 billion in parts will be attracted in May, June and July.

Uzbekistan created the Anti-Crisis Fund to overcome the consequences of COVID-19 under the Ministry of Finance with a capital of 10 trillion soums. It is planned to attract loans from international financial institutions.

The government was instructed to attract credit funds in the amount of up to US$1 billion in 2020 to finance the state budget and the Anti-Crisis Fund.

At present, revenues to the Anti-Crisis Fund from all resources have reached 3.5 trillion soums, and expenditures - 1.884 trillion soums.
